2025 Bird Island Cruise
Join us for an educational and enjoyable cruise along the nine Lower Cape Fear River Islands, nesting sites of Brown Pelicans, White Ibis, Royal Terns, Great Egrets, American Oystercatchers, and other water birds on Sunday, May 18th.
We will cruise on the Henrietta Riverboat docked at the River Walk in downtown Wilmington (at Dock Street) and travel to Battery Island across from Southport.
Lindsay Addison, Coastal Biologist for Audubon NC, will narrate the cruise. In addition, Jill Peleuses of Wild Bird & Garden will be available onboard during our return trip to answer any songbird-related questions.
The Henrietta Riverboat features an air-conditioned lower level with tables and chairs and a canopy-covered upper deck with chairs.
The riverboat is wheelchair accessible, restrooms are available, and the Henrietta crew provides a cash bar and snack bar. Boarding will begin at 10:30 am, departure at 11:00 am, and we will return approximately at 4-5 pm. Fun activities are planned during the return trip, including Bird Bingo!
