This Friday, September 17th, get “off your rockers, acting crazy” as one of the area’s leading bands, the Back Porch Rockers do their thing.
The North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport will host a free concert by the band at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 on the Garrison Lawn at Fort Johnson, downtown Southport.
The band, established in early 2016, is a rock ‘n’ roll band that plays a variety of music that includes classic rock, blues, country and beach music from the ’60s through 2000s.
Sponsorships are still needed and are available by calling 910-477-5154 or emailing [email protected].
A raffle will be held with very attractive items and baskets. Local businesses have donated items and gift certificates. Also local restaurants such as Moore Street Market will be offering a special “to go dinners.”
All of the proceeds will go to support the NC Maritime Museum at Southport and its upcoming exhibits.
The mission of the Friends of the NC Maritime Museum at Southport is to develop, encourage and promote public awareness of the museum and to support the resources, programs and facilities.
